Results: National Inventors Hall of Fame – Camp Invention
Assets: The National Inventors Hall of Fame created Camp Invention to create a place where kids’ imagination could run wild. The program was a local success that fit with the organization’s mission, met a need in the marketplace, and had the seed of a successful business model.
Initiative: Modify and enhance the business model to provide motivation for camp leaders (teachers) and the camp hosts (schools) while providing substantial revenue to the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Results: Within 2 years, Camp Invention had reached 20,000 campers in 23 states, generating$3.5 million per year. Within 10 years, Camp Invention had expanded to 48 states, reaching >55,000+ campers while generating $13.5 million per year.
