Stephen Brand, President and Chief Imagination Officer
With a masters in education from Harvard and an Executive Doctorate of Management from Case Western Reserve, Stephen Brand, President and Chief Imagination Officer of the New Enterprise Factory, has a unique combination of skills, academic credentials and professional experiences that bring together expertise in innovation strategy, education experience development, and entrepreneurial coaching.
Throughout his career, he has worked on the creation of new ventures in non-profit, large corporate and entrepreneurial settings. As President of The National Inventors Hall of Fame, he led the creation of the business model that expanded Camp Invention from a $100,000 summer camp in Akron, OH to a $13 million business in 48 states. Some of the organizations he has worked with include: Ford Motor Company, Polaroid, Children’s Television Workshop, WNET – New York, Corporate College, Liberty Science Center, Forbes, Museum of Science, Boston, the Jewish Federations of Greater Detroit and Canton, OH and JCC of Cleveland. John has broad sponsorship and non-profit marketing experience, a passion for great missions, and a unique talent for finding and leveraging assets and organizational relationships. He has worked on the agency and client side, with non-profits and for-profits, and taught middle school science in New Jersey before bringing together his interest in marketing with his passion for education. Stephen and John met at Liberty Science Center as it prepared to open in 1993. Stephen was the Vice President, Programming and John was the Associate Director, Public Affairs and Marketing and Manager, Kodak OMNI Theater. They collaborated extensively at Liberty Science Center, often leveraging the resources and talents of their departments.
